I want to tell you about my teacher, Chiara. When studying a language, the most important is not ability or the time you are willing to spend achieving the desired results. The most important is the specialist who is leading you to your goals. I began studying with Chiara as part of a small group , and then, when she left Russia, my lessons continued through Skype. I was skeptical towards the idea of lessons through Skype but I really didn't want to lose this teacher. And I was not misled – there are many advantages to studying through Skype as well: you don't need to run off anywhere after your lesson, your lessons take place in a comfortable environment, and most importantly, these are individual lessons. Individual lessons are twice as effective as group lessons, I can already see! And now about Chiara. She is a teacher sent from heaven: she is not simply a native speaker, she knows how to teach people how to converse to understand the structure and grammar. Chiara employs her own teaching method, using contemporary Italian textbooks which have been developed specially for teaching foreigners. She is demanding, not only with regards to her students, but also with regards to herself: I have not met Italians with such a string work ethic although I need Italian for work and am in daily contact with them. I have been studying Italian for 8 months. For two of these months I have had the pleasure to study through Skype with a, in my opinion, with a charming, thoughtful teacher – Lara. Before I met Lara, I had two other Italian teachers who, probably, knew the material, but this was not the most important. There wasn't any “life” in the “live” lessons (I would go to the school and speak with the teachers face to face). The lessons followed a template, and already stale program. As I am a more spiritual person, this was not enough. I wanted to communicate in the language I was learning from a more internalized place. I wanted my learning experience to not just follow a scheduled program, but also to bring joy and, most importantly, a desire to continue studying the foreign language I had chosen. And Lara became for me exactly this type of teacher with whom it is pleasant simply to talk, not to mention the fact that studying Italian was enjoyable again. With regards to the school itself, I would recommend this school to everyone I know who would like to study a foreign language. And I'd recommend it not for its prices or its discounts, but for the professionalism of the people.
