She has worked as a tutor (in person and online) since 1995 in addition to working as a teacher at the Oriental Institute, Saint Petersburg (http://www.orientalinstitute.ru/) in the department of Japanese Studies from 2002 to 2007.
Sachiko is a broadly educated and cultured person. She is an experienced teacher of Japanese and has also received an education as a vocalist and has performed as an opera singer in the State Theatre of Opera and Ballet of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory and at the Mariinsky Theatre, participated in numerous classical music festivals, and also organized several festivals herself. Currently, Sachiko is offering piano and voice lessons to all who are interested.
In addition, Sachiko works as a correspondent with a number of Japanese news publications covering cultural and everyday life from her home in Saint Petersburg.
Sachiko’s Japanese lessons are applicable, comprehensible, and enjoyable due in part to the fact that she uses materials from Japan exclusively and pays particular attention to the most complicated aspects of the language, like writing. Throughout her lessons, Sachiko maintains the value of cultural and geographical knowledge for the process of teaching.
