Work Experience

Anna has been teaching Russian as a foreign language since 2007. Working with students from various countries, of various ages and language levels, she often reflects on the teaching process and how to perfect it, on the development of her own teaching materials, and on how to best use existing methods and internet resources. The resulting series of techniques and exercises helps students to master various skills in order to successfully learn a foreign language: the memorization of new vocabulary, scanning, maintenance of beginner level conversation, and so on.

In her courses Anna follows a communicative approach. She endeavours to make learning a part of the process of communication in a foreign language and not merely the study of rules and vocabulary. Anna attempts to use to the linguistic experience and interests that a student has at their fingertips and constructs individualized and entertaining lessons for each student.

According to Anna, an important part of studying the Russian language or indeed any language is gaining a familiarity with the culture: geography, history, literature, and the particularities of everyday Russian life. In this way, Anna’s lessons include an aspect of regional studies even at the beginner level.

Anna is fluent in Italian and English, and she speaks German and Spanish very well. Due to this expertise, she can always help answer any question students might have, and explain clearly and in detail the rules of Russian grammar.

Anna is currently working as a Russian teacher at the College of Further Education in Munich (Münchner Volkshochschule, https://www.mvhs.de/). She also offers online Russian language lessons to students all over the world.
